Zahra Mani

Zahra Mani is a musician, composer and producer from Pakistan and London. She has been living and working in Austria since 2001 and continues to spend time in the UK, Pakistan and also in Croatia. Her musical work includes compositions for solo instruments, voices and ensembles, radio art and sound installations, solo and collaborative concerts with a broad range of artists and inter-medial performances. Mani's work combines field recordings of nature and machines with string and keyboard instruments to compose her unmistakable sound. She uses her burgeoning archive of instrumental and found sound to create dense, differentiated, pulsing soundscapes that envelope the listener and redefine the acoustic space. Field recordings, voices, instruments, machines, the sea, the wind, animals and landscapes provide the acoustic basis for auditory worlds.
