Ellen Foster

LN Foster is a multi-modal performer and transdisciplinary researcher who works with various forms of movement, sound, critical/engaged pedagogy, and text. With a background in astronomy, she is currently pursing a PhD in Science and Technology Studies for which she is focusing on grassroots public engagements of technoscience. In particular, LN is interested in the knowledge production practices, skill-sharing tactics, and epistemic cultures of those who are hacking and making on the margins of the technoscientific landscape. Through her work she hopes to not only study, but to help create alternative pathways for defining and critically operationalizing "technology" in the everyday and in opposition to systemic oppression.
