An artistic research unit, IEFS is interested in spontaneous collaboration, forms of cooperation, and the mecha- nisms and phases of group formation. In the course of months and weeks of interaction with the individuals involved with the respective focus, IEFS forms networks. Interviews, participant observation, on-site research, and most importantly questionnaires are the mediums IEFS uses to perform its discourse work. The manifestation of every field of research created by IEFS represents a kind of group portrait.
