Sung-ah Kim was born in 1983 in South korea. She graduated from the Catholic University of Daegu and completed Bachelor and Master course by Sukhi Kang and Unsuk Kim(South korea). Studied Aufbaustudium course by Toni Völker from the Akademie für Tonkunst in Darmstadt(Germany). Study Master course from the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz by Klaus Lang(Austria). Her compositions won second place at the international composers competitions STYRIA CANTAT 2013 - Forum for New Choral Music. This music is going to have its premiere in Stefaniensaal of Graz(Austria) soon. And She participated 2014 International Bartók Seminar and Festival "Bartók Festival 30 - Péter Eötvös 70" in Szombathely (Hungary). Her piece ‘Intervention’ was premiered with Alter Ego Ensemble under the direction of Peter Eötvös in Szombathely.
