Verena Thürkauf was born in 1955 in Basel. During her stay in Vienna 1984-1995, amongst other things she graduated at the Academy of Fine Arts with Prof. Arnulf Rainer. During that time she also participated in different exhibition projects in Austria, including also some solo exhibitions, e.g.: Galerie Knoll, Wien - X-IST, Wien - ESC, Graz – Palais Liechtenstein, Feldkirch. In addition she participated amongst others in following group exhibitions: Akademie der Bildenden Künste, Rathaus der Stadt Wien, Galerie Stalzer, Wien – Offenes Kulturhaus, Linz. In the field of art-in-building Thürkauf has also been active with her project at Donauspital, Wien (with Renate Kordon). Today she lives in Basel.
