Julia E Dyck

Julia E Dyck (1989) is an interdisciplinary artist and educator from Winnipeg, Manitoba, currently based in Brussels, Belgium. Her artistic research focuses on listening and transmission as a transformative act. Through broadcast, installations, and live performances, Dyck investigates the mediation of identity and affect through different modes of perception, where the listener’s experience becomes the focus. Recent projects have employed instruments/ electronics/ found sound/ data/ field recordings/ video and vocals in creating narratives and experiences that question reality and employ queer understandings of gender, sexuality, and kinship.
