A robotic space organ - created from a deconstructed church organ that has been combined into pipe blocks - will be used, as will automaton piano players, which will be supplemented with further sound automata during the exhibition. For Klangautomata, Winfried Ritsch continues the exploratory, laboratory-like character of his artistic approach to sound out autonomous devices within a network in the code room Nebenwelt [NW] for his social machines [SM], networked machines as loATs (Internet of Art Things), testing out various sound automata as loT artworks.
In the three-part development phase, Ritsch and his lab assistants create a secondary world parallel to the exhibition. After an in-depth introduction to the possibilities of the initial situation, Ritsch and his lab assistants develop new sound automata in the second phase and prepare the secondary world, which is further developed in the implementation phase into a form that can be received from the outside of the esc mkl and activated at the midissage. In the time between the midissage and the finissage, visitors can experience the secondary world in the outdoor space of the esc mkl.
On Art's Birthday on 17 January 2023, Klangautomata Nebenwelt will close with a concert.
