Tania Safa
Tania Safa is a designer-artist and researcher currently completing a specialized master’s degree in research-creation at ENS Paris-Saclay, France. She holds a National Diploma in Fine Craft and Design in graphic design from Lycée Jean-Pierre Vernant (Sèvres), a National Superior Diploma of Expression of Plastic Arts in textile design from La HEAR (Mulhouse), and a master’s degree in design research from ENS Paris-Saclay. Her work operates at the intersection of bio-design, more-than-human speculative design and interactive installations. Through research-creation methodologies, she engages living matter as an active collaborator, exploring processes of growth, care, and transformation.
Her practice challenges anthropocentric perspectives and proposes alternative ways of sensing and coexisting with microbial life. Her projects often materialize as hybrid installations where microbial activity, sensory experience, and technology converge, challenging boundaries between organism and machine, visible and invisible, self and other. Opening spaces for alternative imaginaries and renewed ecological awareness.
