Lorenzo Romano

Lorenzo Romano (Firenze, 1985) is an Italian composer based in Graz, Austria. He studied composition at conservatory Luigi Cherubini of Florence with Mauro Cardi. During 2010-2011 he studied at Universität der Musik und darstellende Kunst Graz with Beat Furrer as an Erasmus student. In 2012 he came back to follow a postgraduate course in instrumental composition and a Master in Computer Music with Marko Ciciliani. He attended master classes with: H. Lachenmann, S. Gervasoni, S. Sciarrino, P. Hurel, R. Saunders, G. F. Haas. His music has been performed in Usa, France (Royaumont), Germany (Bauhaus Dessau), Austria (Oper Graz) and Italy (Biennale di Venezia) and by performers such as for example Neue Vocalsolisten, Ensemble Recherche, or Marco Fusi. So far he composed chamber music, a chamber opera, music for ballet, and orchestral music. He worked as well with live electronics and electronic music for video art. He is the founder member of Schallfeld Ensemble. He’s active as organizer of concerts (Freon Festival, Rome; MiXXer, Ferrara; Disaccordi, Firenze) and as event manager for performances of contemporary art connected with music (Museo Pecci, Prato).
