The artist Andrea Schlemmer was born 1971 in Graz. After a photograph teaching, studies in Art History, Pedagogy and Educational Sciences, she completed "Feminist Basic Studies" in Vienna and the master class for painting at the Ortweinschule, Graz. In addition to numerous solo and group exhibitions, the artist develops performances, directs and curates exhibitions. Schlemmer is also represented in two artists collectives: FLEXI, (http://flexi.mur.at), lady tigers nightclub (http://ltnc.mur.at).“My work is based on phenomenological research through visualisations of materiality, relations and functions of the human body in its personal, social and political context.”
