Anna Grenzner

Cellist and performer who is intensely concerned with the social responsibility of her performance practice. In parallel to her work as an ensemble and chamber musician, she immerses herself in the role of improviser, mover and curator, focusing her current work on interdisciplinary interactions around contemporary music and physicality.

Anna is a member of the Arxis contemporary music ensemble in A Coruña, Spain, and cellist, co-curator and project manager of the Graz-based LaKT Ensemble, a choreo-musical research group committed to reshaping relational structures and rethinking traditional roles and hierarchies in artistic practice. She studied her Bachelor's degree in Barcelona and her Master's degree in Performance Practice in Contemporary Music in Graz with Klangforum Wien. As a cellist, she has participated in various festivals and academies for contemporary music, such as Klangspuren Schwaz (Austria), Impuls Festival (Graz, Austria), Mixtur Festival (Barcelona, Spain) or Ensemble Academy Freiburg (Germany). She has worked with composers such as Rebecca Saunders, Brian Ferneyhough or Beat Furrer as well as with musicians from Klangforum Wien, Ensemble Modern or Ensemble Recherche.
