Christian Pointner studied telematics and works as a technician for Radio Helsinki, a free radio station in Graz. Since 2005 he is an active founding member and member of the board of the community network Funkfeuer. He is also a co-founder of the realraum project and is currently a member of the board of directors of mur.at, an association for the advancement of network art. He is even active in orbit, as the technical director of the project mur.sat.
