Christof Ressi was born in 1989 in Villach, Austria. At the age of six he got his first cello lessons, later the switched to piano and e-guitar. At 17 he took classes in jazz piano and classical composition at the Conservatory Klagenfurt. In 2008 he begin his bachelor study of composition with Gerd Kühr at the University of Arts Graz in which he graduated with distinction in 2012. He is currently doing a master study in composition with Gerd Kühr and jazz composition with Ed Partyka. His field of work covers various styles of music such as contemporary music, jazz, electronic music and applied music. In 2013 he was a finalist of the big band composition competition “Jazzverk” in Sweden.
