Christoph Grill was born in Austria in 1965. He studied zoology at the University of Vienna, and he lives and works as a photographer and archaeozoologist in Graz. For many years his artistic work has focused on the situation of formerly communist countries in eastern and southeastern Europe, as well as the successor states of the former Soviet Union.
