David Worrall

David Worrall

is an experimental composer, research scientist, and academic, working in polymedia, music, sonification, sound design and software development as well as acoustic instrumental composition. He is engaged in both creative and empirical research, and an Adjunct Senior Research Fellow in the School of Music at The Australian National University in Canberra and in the Emerging Audio Research group in the Audio Department of International Audio Laboratories at Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS in Erlangen, Germany. He has extensive collaboration, has won various awards and held composition and research fellowship positions. His creative practice encompasses instrumental and electroacoustic composition, sound poetry, sound and polymedia installations including the design and construction of portable event theatres, the development of software frameworks for music composition and the sonification of information in large or high-frequency multivariate datasets.
