Elena Gabbrielli is born in Arezzo (Tuscany, Italy). She studied flute at the conservatoria in Venice and graduated simultaneous in studies of philosophy at the Ca’ Foscari University. Beneath her activity with the classical flute repertoire, she developed an special interest for new music in the last few years. She was participant at “Darmstädter Kurse für die Neue Musik”,“Impuls Academy” in Graz and “Ensemble Recherche” at the Academy in Freiburg. Numerous concerts and premieres of ensemble-, opera-, chamber music- and solo pieces with different ensembles such as for instance “Klangforum Wien”, “Ensemble Zeitfluss Graz”, “Ensemble L’ Arsenale”. Concerts with newer and classical music at different festivals such as “Steirischer Herbst” Graz, “Biennale Musica” Venice, “Festival Nuove Musiche” Palermo,“Ravenna Festival”, “Festival dei due Mondi di Spoleto”, “Darmstädter Ferienkurse für Neue Musik”, “Archipel Festival” Geneva, “Gaida Festival” Vilnius, “Dialoge Festival” Salzburg, “Spring Music Festival” Shanghai and others. She is also working with passion with young composers of her generation, and realized with them numerous premieres. Elena studied new music at “Kunstuniversität” in Graz and concluded in 2013 her master studies.
