born in Basel (Switzerland), lives in France. Trained as a human geographer and musicologist, he taught as a professor for human geography of the arts & humanities at the University of Basel, during some time at the universities of Graz, Vienna and Klagenfurt, on topics of mobile methods of everyday aesthetics, soundscape studies, time geography and urban transformation. He was chairman of Radio Helsinki, the free radio in Graz, until autumn 2021.
