Melissa Aguilar
artist, designer and artistic researcher from Costa Rica, currently based in Berlin. Her practice moves across the intersections of art, technology, and social engagement, guided by a feminist and collaborative perspective. Focus on projects that explore identity, digital culture, and DIY strategies of resistance and reimagination.
“As an artist and designer from the Global South, I believe in the importance of alternative forms of representation—such as self-publishing and non-academic artistic expression. Over the past three years, I’ve translated my research into images, zines, and small publications. I explore my ideas through iterative formats like illustrations, zines, prints, and archives—allowing different parts of the work to take on their own visual and material forms.”
