Sophie Kauper

Sophie Kauper (AUT) has lived in different places, doing different things. Traveling through Bangladesh’s countryside, interviewing victims of domestic abuse, collecting information, just to be mugged on a rickshaw, losing most of the data. With tiny dirt tattoos under her skin from that encounter, she then moved to China, teaching English and learning how to play rugby. Life choices made her form a deep connection with the US that will probably always be there. These decisions brought her to Jamaica. Showing facility management at the US embassy that life is too short to be angry at puppies, rescuing stray dogs, interning at the psychiatric unit, organizing yoga lessons, and taking online classes in psychology taught her about the diversity of the human psyche. Engineering courses at universities in Austria allowed her to discover her love for science. Tutoring math and English led her back to being a freelancer. She is responsible for the editorial work in Lessons On Change.
