Anna Ridler
is an artist and researcher who explores knowledge systems and the emergence of technologies.
Ridler holds an MA in Information Experience Design from the Royal College of Art and a BA in English Literature and Language from the University of Oxford, as well as fellowships at the Creative Computing Institute at the University of the Arts London (UAL). Her work has been exhibited in cultural institutions worldwide, including the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Barbican Centre, the Centre Pompidou, HeK Basel, ZKM Karlsruhe, Ars Electronica, the Sheffield Documentary Festival, and the Leverhulme Centre for Future Intelligence. She was an EMAP Fellow of the European Union and winner of the DARE Art Prize 2018–2019. Ridler has received commissions from Salford University, the Photographers Gallery, Opera North, and the Impakt Festival. She was listed by Artnet as one of nine “pioneering artists” exploring the creative potential of AI and received an honorable mention at the Ars Electronica Golden Nica Award 2019 in the AI & Life Art category. For her work with data sets and categorization, she was nominated for the Design Museum's Beazley Designs of the Year Award in 2019. Ridler lives and works in London.
